CryptoLocker Ransomware is a particularly nasty scam for the many who don't keep their antivirus/malware up to date. What happens is a scam email attachment claiming to be a fax, voicemail, invoice or details of a bank transaction from your bank, if you click on the attachment your PC ends up encrypted and you are locked out of your files with a timer counting down from 72 hours, the scamers then hold your PC to ransom for £500 then it goes up to more than £5000 if you don't pay within the 72 hours. They do not not ask for credit card details but demand Bitcions and a system called MoneyPak which is just about untraceable, at the moment it is impossible to decrypt the ransomware files. People who have paid up to the thieving **&^**&^&$$@ stated that the decryption keys do not work.
You must make sure your Antivirus software is a)turned on and b) up to date as once CryptoLocker is on your system Antivirus is useless, you can get a free CryptoPrevent tool from here www.snipca.com/10690 (check before its downloading). the cheeky sods even have there own "customer services" website to help people pay!!!!
